   SPRING NEWSLETTER 2016

Hello, welcome back and Happy New Year!!!
I hope you all had a lovely break and enjoyed relaxing family time together. Thank you so much for your cards and presents , I loved them!
Last term finished with the Candlelight Christmas Concert which for me is always the start of feeling "Christmassy", some really accomplished piano pieces this year and festive fun with the Drama & Dance, so many thanks to everyone who helped make it a success and start the Christmas celebrations off.
We also hosted our fourth gymnastics competition at the school ,with 40 Gymnasts attending who all enjoyed the event and many congratulations to our squad who had really improved in their strength and agility. Well done!! And thank you to the Gymnastic coaches for all their hard work.
Several students took their piano exams last term with 100% pass rate , so congratulations to you and the piano teachers.
Try and see Tumo Reetsang in "Kinky Boots" before his contract ends in Febuary, after that he has been cast in" Les Blancs" at the National Theatre.
So now on to this term...busy, busy, busy! We have Tap, Modern, Ballet , Drama & Musical Theatre exams booked for March 21st-23rd , so if these are going to involve you , please make sure you have good attendance this term!
There will also be the annual Spring Gymnastics display which will be on Saturday 19th March at 6.30.
We will also be re- introducing our "Feedback and Careers" advice sessions for any of you (parents or pupils) that would like to chat about progress, plans or any concerns you might have that you feel aren't being dealt with. This will be on Saturday Feb 27th and I will put up appointment slots towards half term.
Rehearsals and fund raising activities for England Dance Squad will begin this term, the meeting for pupils interested in joining the team was extremely poorly attended so I need some feed back please as the other schools in the squad will have taken all the places as thay are all bringing more dancers next year. I am still collecting old clothes etc to raise money so please bring them in plus if you join up to :- easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/englanddance and select  and follow the simple steps to sign up that would really help the cause. Thank You.
Plus we are planning a Valentines Masked Ball for Saturday Febuary 13th, any offers of help would be great.
The timetable for this term remains the same as last with 2 lessons being extended to 60 minutes, they are G3/4 Tap on a Friday at 5.20 and G6 Modern on a Saturday at 3.30.
Plus as per last term we have added Gymnastic classes on a Monday after school.
I have to put the fees up this term as the teachers wages and studio rent are all increasing, as you probably realise I try to keep the fees as low as possible in order to be affordable to all, whilst offering first rate training the chance to take recognised exams , performance opportunities, competitions & professional work. I have restructured the payment scheme to reflect a more realistic rate which I sincerely hope is still affordable to you all.A full explaination of this is on the school website www.westminsterperformingarts.co.uk
And your personal fees breakdown is listed below.
Plus finally...can everyone please observe good grooming for class. Hair tied back (bun for ballet) correct uniform..all of which is sold and stocked at the school at discounted prices. Being correctly groomed for class helps prepare you psychologically for the dance discipline ahead and improves performance and aids corrections!!!
So looking forward to seeing all your lovely faces again.

Angie
